Thursday, 25 October 2018: Expressing happiness over the Uttarakhand hosting the two-day ‘Gyan Kumbh’ at Patanjali Yogpeeth in Haridwar to be inaugurated by the President Ramnath Kovind on November 3, Acharya Balkrishna said that they were feeling honoured. “This would be the first such big congregation of the educationists who would come from across the country and would deliberate on the ideal education system for India. We would be the host for the great event. We would welcome them and make all arrangements for them. This is a great honour for us,” he said while addressing a media conference on Wednesday.
The Education Ministers of the States and heads of universities, colleges and educational institutions would attend the mega event to be organised jointly by the Higher Education Department, Government of Uttarakhand and the Patanjali Yogpeeth.
“We are determined to ensure that the congregation sends a message to the country which would shed new light on the ideal education system for India.
It is a futuristic programme which would benefit the upcoming generations,” Balkrishna said.
Speaking to The Pioneer, the State Higher Education Minister Dhan Singh Rawat said that there would be participation of seven to ten thousand people from 800 universities and 252 degrees colleges aside from professors from IITs and IIMs at the Gyan Kumbh.
Besides, many research scholars would also take part in the Kumbh, he said. “We thank the Patanjali group for making arrangements for the Gyan Kumbh,” he said, adding that there would be discussion on the new education policy and many firsts would be seen during the Kumbh. Read More
